Mariano Piantoni es artista plástico y pintor. Desarrolla su práctica en el campo de la pintura contemporánea, trabajando principalmente con técnicas mixtas —óleo, acrílico y emulsiones— que le permiten construir superficies estratificadas, donde la materia pictórica funciona como memoria, registro y tiempo. Su obra se centra en la exploración de la figura, lo híbrido y lo simbólico, en diálogo con tradiciones visuales como los bestiarios medievales y renacentistas, la pintura histórica y la literatura. Atraviesa su producción una concepción del tiempo circular, vinculada a la idea del eterno retorno, donde las formas se repiten, se transforman y se reconfiguran. Las imágenes que construye evitan la narración literal y proponen escenas abiertas, cargadas de ambigüedad y resonancia poética, donde lo monstruoso no opera como amenaza sino como reflejo de la condición humana. Su trabajo indaga en la relación entre pasado y presente, ficción y realidad, invitando a una experiencia pictórica que privilegia la interpretación y la experiencia sensible.
