The inspiration behind this piece is the similarities of the raw connection that humans and animals share, the hope is for viewers to realize that humans and animals harmonize the balance of the earth and we need to work together to save our beautiful planet and all its inhabitants. Depicted is a beautiful Sumatran rhino and her young, you can feel the connection and love between the mother and child by their composition and how they interact in their natural environment with a warm glowing sunshine having a loving moment. Rebecca chose Acrylic for this piece because it had an acrylic feel to its imagery and wanted to be able to achieve very bright tones throughout capturing the natural light shining onto the rhinos through gently blended brushstrokes, by layering washes of tones and getting thicker with the paint she has achieved a wonderful blend between the natural light and dark areas throughout the painting. The piece is Acrylic on Canvas paper and is unframed.
