A collection that plays with the conventionally held views of what is beautiful in art. Can we override disgust as we appreciate beauty? This collection puts the viewer in a conflicted position between appreciating the beauty of what they see whilst at the same time feel troubled by the content. It is this tension that makes the collection valuable and a comment on the mystery of the human condition. This is one in a series of works that observe the unexpected beauty that I saw in the subject matter. The naturally occurring colours and compositions are always thought provoking and create a uniquely personal experience for the viewer. One that teeters on the knife edge between extreme beauty and uncomfortable conflict/disgust. This inner conflict that an abstract image can produce is really interesting to me. I have contemplated this series for a while and when the right environment presented itself I decided to to create it. I'm satisfied with the outcome and it's extreme originality/ bravery.
