Agnese Sbaffi is a photographer based in Rome. Her artistic practice examines the themes of memory, time and experience. Photography as a tool for recording reality allows her to note down different situations and backgrounds. However, like memory, the photographic medium bears witness to the intangible influence of time and perception: suppression, fading, inconsistency, vagueness and doubt. Recently, Agnese has been experimenting with overlapping images, rebuilding neither new nor different scenarios or landscapes. The photographic tool takes a different meaning, drawing on the uncertain, the ambiguously subjective and the inaccuracy of memory.
