After Arrival, Before Dinner Print

The wonderful thing about digital photography is that any picture can be made. After Arrival, Before Dinner was created from a single photograph of a semi-nude female model in a countryhouse hotel. I like to make photographs that have a narrative. Much of my work is theatrical in nature, deriving staged stories would often require a cast of models. But digital editing permits snippets of scenes to be stitched together, and some parts created taken from others. This picture is rendered as a water colour painting. It has structure like paint strokes, and the combination of composition, narrative suggested by the work's title gives a clue to an observer to what I was attempting to create. Thank heavens art is subjective. People will make it do whatever they want it to do. Interestingly, it's the story that isn't illustrated that intrigues viewers.
