ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Signed and certified photo The image shows a cloistered nun looking from her convent window at a wooden angel hanging from a "step". The "pasos" are wooden structures with silver and gold sconces that procession during Holy Week in Andalusia. In this case it is Ayamonte, a fishing village in the extreme southwest of Spain. The nuns are forbidden to go outside, but once a year, just at that time, they are allowed to open the window, look and even talk to people.
