ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I love the work of Victor Pasmore, and I'm fascinated by the work of the architects who imagined a new way of living in the post war years. Peterlee is (or was) a new town, and Pasmore, although an artist, was heavily involved in the design and conception. Central to his plans was the Pavilion, opened in 1969, which is huge sculptural piece constructed among the modest houses. I was especially drawn to the domestic fences, and like most of my work this image was made on film, using vintage equipment.
