ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I called this black and white still life photo Apple Pie Moonshine. I named it after reading the ingredients for this tasty moonshine concoction. I was initially going to call the image Apple Pie because the book was open on that page. However, you can barely make out the page in the photo, so I thought to embellish it a little. The actual recipe in the book doesn't matter—the still-life arrangement of just ingredients is a slice of expectation of what could be. Photography, for me, is a mixture of documentary and expression. I enjoy seeing an image I shot begin to shape and form. Whether film or digital, I still get the same thrill working on a photo I made. I made several prints over the years, like a previous image in my Black and White Collection. The largest one I ever made is 12x12". The image can be printed much larger, and those sizes are available here on Saatchi Art.
