The Discovery: As a Fine Arts professional specializing in new media, I treat the digital process as an exploration of a new frontier. My work creates a dialogue with Glitch Art, yet remains grounded in the physical act of capture. I do not use software to create these effects; instead, I seek out the "surprises" inherent in the medium. The Vision: I use composition and layering to trigger visceral emotional responses. This collection specifically navigates the "feminine condition"—a space that can be both incredibly beautiful and devastatingly chaotic. The Argument: My inspiration stems from a critique of modern media and the "pornification" of the female self. I am interested in the psychological disconnect of women who claim empowerment through imagery that mirrors their own exploitation. This work serves as a visual inquiry into why "strength" is so often sold to women as a requirement of being sexualized and feminized. It’s a world gone crazy … keeps a woman in chains - Tears for Fears “Sex is our deepest form of consciousness. It is utterly non-ideal, non-mental. It is pure blood-consciousness.... It is the consciousness of the night, when the soul is almost asleep.” — D.
