ABOUT THE ARTWORK
These looms are set up in the open along the village laneways. Everyone participates - after the harvest and drying the women spin the jute threads. The men do the weaving. Some pieces can be as long as 10 metres, the pieces are sewn together to form mats, rugs and other domestic items.
