ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It is the only bar in the well-hidden enclave of Port Costa, California. This tavern and grill is an adventure. A full-size grizzly bear and a polar bear, with a large silk oriental lantern over the pool table, a fabulous collection of wall hangings, antiques, a wrap-around full bar, a dining room, and a kitchen. This is a fitting entrance. Across the street, a three-story former brothel is. Rather than numbered rooms, the ladies' names (presumably within) mark the doors. The image was initially captured on Provia 35mm film (2011) - I scanned and subsequently transformed it into this rich illustration Glicee print.
