There are plans in place to renovate the historic 6th street bridge that connects Boyle Heights to Downtown Los Angeles. I decided to take a field trip and take pictures of the area before it is completely changed. The dark clouds with the blue sky peaking through, and DTLA in the distance, made a g...

My name is Cesar Lopapa. I grew up traveling with my family throughout the United States, Europe, and my parents’ native country, Argentina. As is typical of the Argentine, my family’s cultural background can be traced to Europe--my paternal lineage is rooted in Sicily and Spain and my maternal lineage in the former Yugoslavia and Basque region of Spain. From early on, I was exposed to these cultures and was influenced by the vibrant, colorful, and robust tastes and textures that comprise the Argentine life. I credit my love of life, friends, family, food, and art to my parents. My father had a lust for life and a generous heart, providing for outrageous trips, parties, food, friends and festivities. My mother brought a sense of balance and a warm, caring nature that defined my family values. In the last four years I began to capture my adventures first with a Blackberry, than an iPhone and, most recently, with a digital camera. Taking photographs began as a task for work, but quickly became a passion. Over time, the quality of my cameras improved and my use of graphic apps and tools continued to evolve until, eventually, I had built a collection of photographs chronicling my on-going journey. These following images are a taste of that journey, which I hope you enjoy.
