Elena Corbu (b. 1990, Romania) is a visual artist working primarily with photography. Her practice focuses on the interplay between body, nature, and memory, exploring themes of fragility, time, and the unseen layers of existence. Raised between rural and urban spaces, her work carries an organic sensibility, often reflecting on the impermanence of human experience through tactile and introspective imagery. Although she does not have formal academic training in the arts, Elena has developed her visual language through years of personal exploration, fieldwork, and interdisciplinary influences. Her approach is deeply intuitive, often working with black-and-white imagery to emphasize form, light, and emotion. She is currently in a phase of artistic transformation, focusing on visual studies and philosophical processes that question the nature of presence and perception. Elena has exhibited in group and solo settings, published her work in various media outlets, and collaborated with artists across disciplines. She currently lives and works between rural Romania and Bucharest, balancing artistic practice with commissioned projects.
