ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Blue wall" is a performance work dedicated for all buildings from soviet union times with a blue walls inside in my city Lviv that in Ukraine. As we gues the walls were painted into a blue just because of cheap prise of this colour. I live in once of this "blue" buidings and observe how some things are chanching around but not the walls in a building, since people are painted them again and again into the same tone. How it's always cheaper paint once more into the same colour than change in a different. Second point of the work were a rubber gloves in ukrainian flag, that is still so not normal to give to the prodaction I think. I was find them in my place since my flatmate bought them in a supermarket. The district were I was realized this work is quiet grey only with some blue spots around the street, like this little shop in the photo, some gates and this walls in the building. This colour symbolize something funny and the same time remind about our soviet past. I was used an original blue emanel paint like that that was on the wall it was important with a smell and density of the paint. And I become enough dangerous with this paint on me, that was also good. My guesture was some kind of manifeste, when I painted my body into this colour over my neck, over the natural high of blue level of the wall. The level of my throad coincided with the height of wall that was the key. Even me the person that was borned in independent Ukraine have enaugh of this post soviet past around. For me it was a sign of last point with that colour not just in my work also in general. I would like people become more open for changes for some initiatives.
