About the Artist

Rodney Rascona

United Kingdom

As a director and photographer I've spent much of my life on location around the globe, immersed in local,
region and national issues that I’ve embraced, as this enables me to have a better understanding of the
challenges my subjects may be enjoying, enduring or suffering under. All human issues interest me, especially
where film or photography can help make the difference.

When a population or individuals are often
maligned, marginalized, impoverished, made less than best, my images can help give a voice where at times...
there's none to be heard. Migration, polarization, religion bias, poverty, refugees, domestic abuse, global
health, drought, famine, children's lives and the dreams of a planet…local social issues to international affairs,
the human rights and the human condition are important issues to me.

I've been tasked with raising awareness to some of the 21st century's most pressing global issues [2004 Southeast Asia Tsunami, the Haitian earthquake, the Somali/Kenya exodus, Ethiopian Famine, Post-Genocide Rwanda, Women's Rights in Congo, Philippines typhoon Haiyan, Global Women's Health and Human Rights], consistently delivering frame-by-frame impact for clients from NGOs to the United Nations Foundation - as a Director, Cinematographer/Photographer and as a trusted Executive Producer.
