ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I created this piece to reflect cat behavior and was inspired by the photographer, Eadweard Muybridge, a pioneer of the 1800s known for his black and white studies of motion. Though this is a still imagine, it captures the movement of cats. I am always intrigued by cats' elegance and form--the shapes they form and the beauty of that is often best represented in silhouette. Animal aficionados will appreciate these familiar positions and actions.
