Olo is a photographer based in Gdansk, Poland. He focuses on both analog and digital photography, working in between portraits, architecture, and street photography. ‘My purpose is to present bold beauty hidden in simple, banal, or even ugly forms and structures. I specialize in male portraits, where the strength of pictures is built upon approach towards imperfections, using highlighting and redrawing to present the uniqueness of the modeled person.’ ‘Raw’ series is a constant game between photographer and model; his uniqueness, the study of face characteristics and attempt to find the real picture behind it. His street photography is using picture painting motifs, combining the boldness of reporter photography with a pinch of weirdness and surrealism. His architectural photographic motif exists as a combination of simplicity and purity of brutalism mixed with time constraint moment 'the NOW', creating nothing less than a sculptural form of expression. The concrete, wooden, elegant shapes' reflections seem to haunt the landscape and introduce a human presence. The exquisite frame creation method allows him to work on picturesque, surreal images connected to works of realism paintings. He expertly visualizes atmospheric urban world dreams. Olo cooperates closely with Ricoh Pentax Poland as a street photographer, providing his experience to brand users. Since 2019, he has been working on the "Dolny Wrzeszcz Diaries" project, which presents everyday life in a district, where he lives. Recently, his photographs were published in the book "Together 2020 Project" – a documentary showing life in Poland during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic.
