David Barnett

Artist David Barnett explores the human condition in his photographs. His ongoing project Written on Skin/ Skin places people of different skin types, sexualities and genders at the centre of his work to search the human condition. In terms of my process models are encouraged to contribute to the visual dialogue and to use words that resonate with some part of who they are. Natural daylight is used in the studio space so as to place focus on the colour, contours, and words that make up the image. His work has been shortlisted for the 'Paris Photo Prize 2023'. Recently he launched a fashion label, 'Written On Skin'. I.G. . A collaboration with a fashion designer (Carmen Bravo Ray) culminated in a collection of kimonos to compliment the current collection.
