About the Artist

Anna Piratti

Italy

I was born near Venice in 1973. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice with a Major in Painting. I currently live in Padua, where I have my atelier.

Nature and people are what inspire me the most. With my art, I intend to tell stories of human interaction.

I paint mostly on the ground, using water-based varnish primarily. I alternate dense filaments of colors and soft veils of water.
Drying times vary depending on the weather, due to this, each painting has its particular process, which I like to trust.

I also design site-specific installations in urban areas with the same element of chance. The public is actively involved in the work. Brushes and canvas are replaced with the architectural space, the items and the people. The topics are current events, ranging from climate change to active citizenship.

Whatever the artistic expression, I intend to celebrate life!

My paintings are exposed mostly in private places and companies, my installation are running in urban space across Europe.
