Nelson NZ 1945.
My formative years were spent in a bicultural fishing. and farming community.Since I have travelled extensively, usually back packing to mostly rural places. I write poetry, and am passionate about nature and folk history.

I work in oil on Canvas, painting mostly land and seascapes. I also work in mixed media, sometimes using natural items, such as shells and sand. In particular I enjoy using the sea opal coloured paua, native flowers, and traditional pacific symbols in landscape. I am a daughter of a seafaring family, and spent my formative years on, and beside the ocean. So such work resonates for me.

I have had a life times interest in the art of nature. Having lived and worked in a number of countries, I have a knowledgeable appreciation of the evocative New Zealand landscape.

New Zealands light gives natures colours vivacity. Our rugged mountains and many-coved coastline gives our land structure. Using these values I work to portray that fleeting moment which evokes that which is of aesthetic and emotive value.

I have sold to the US, Australia and England.
