Dog Walker Print - Limited Edition of 20

This image of a dog walker and palm trees reflected in rippling water is one of my favorite examples from my "Reflections of New Orleans" collection. I feel that this type of abstract photography is one of the most challenging. As in all outdoor photography, finding aesthetically pleasing subjects where the light, timing, and shooting angle all come together is the goal. When shooting through the lens of water the variables grow exponentially. The angles that align water and subject are just the beginning. Both reflected subject and the water surface must be lit from the correct direction, if there is no breeze there is no affect, too much wind and the reflected subject is lost in chaos. All this is dependent on size, small puddles mean ripples that are relatively larger than large ponds or pools. To get the perfect balance is almost impossible but when successful the resulting art that I feel is truly special and unique.
