My photographs are passing moments; a glimpse, an emotion, a feeling recorded, in a unique way. I live and take photographs among limestone hills. They catch the eye as you pass, always changing with the light, fading into the clouds and reappearing again. This could be your memory, as you passed b...

Born in Manchester, England.Textile and wallpaper designer who now takes photographs - I make images with the colour, space and texture found in my local environment. I explore the limits of my camera, using blurred and shaken images, layered together, that hint at memories and forgotten moment. I also take 'traditional' photos, and like to grab street shots when out and about. I take photographs of the land and the sea, the people and life in the North West of England and Scotland. I like intimate shots of landscape, of places that aren’t instantly recognizable. I particularly enjoy abstract photography and abstraction in landscape is my core interest. I spent most of my working life as a freelance textile and wallpaper designer, with a ten year interlude running an eco-friendly building company. Finally I laid down my paint brush and picked up a camera instead. I always try to remember to have my camera with me. Where ever you look there is light and texture waiting to be caught as a digital image. Getting the camera out as often as possible is the best way to stay connected with the practice of photography. Like any other discipline or interest, you have to get out there and make the effort. Especially when it’s raining! See my website:
