This image is one from a series of seven photos exploring the texture and form of various flowers arranged, dipped in white paint, and suspended. I regularly use white paint in my works as a way to blank out the subject; to make it clean and neutral. Here the subject has been whitewashed and falls into shadow, leaving us with only the shape and texture of what it once was.
