About the Artist

Shannon Palmer

United States

Painter, photographer, and printmaker who is inspired by the imagined narratives of seemingly mundane moments, objects, and architecture. As of the summer of 2016, I've rebuilt my home darkroom, and have focused about 95% on shooting film. Most work is shot to medium format film cameras, along with two large format handmade pinhole cameras; one 4x5 and the other 8x10.

My preferred medium in regards to painting is usually oil, though I've been known to dabble with gouache and acrylic.

I'm also a printmaker. linocut/block printing is my usual method, though I'm very interested in experimental work in this area as well.

A long-time graphic designer, I'm quite smitten with the study of typography, and 1950s/1960s era Swiss design, as well as Mid-Century Modern architecture.
