ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Torus designs evolved from both my Manna series of sculptures and creating designs with digital software. After carving the first sculptures in marble and onyx I wanted to learn about 3D printing and making models for casting after printing. My digital designs represented to me, a symbol depicting Unity our universe and Infinitely Open Portals. As I'm working with multiple digital imagery, then I work in photoshop to create this series. My hope is that one or all of these prints work well in your home or business setting.

Born April 21, 1949, he grew up in New York. With a passion for lifelong learning, in his midlife he began sculpting with full attention. Berman worked with and learned from many International masters: Everett DuPen, Tom Jay (USA), George Pratt (Canada), Kazutaka Uchida (Japan), Alfonso Rodriguez (Peru), Walter Marchetti (Italy), and Richad Whiteley (Australia) to name a few. His sculpting began in Northern California and his art profession in 1992, when he moved to Bainbridge Island, WA. In 1994, he began to teach stone carving in the Pacific Northwest and at symposiums around the USA. He moved to Ojai in 2011 with his life partner Lisa Berman. Berman’s sculptures are hand made in the mediums of cast glass, stone and metal. His awards have come regionally in the Pacific Northwest, and in 2008 he was selected to exhibit his “Genesis Glass” in the Louvre, Paris, France, by the Societe Nationale Des Beaux-Arts. Berman’s sculptures are sold through galleries and regional shows and are in private collections throughout the USA, Canada, and Europe. His artwork can be seen on his website . Artist Statement Peaceful and timeless - my sculptures bring to you, the importance of stillness, peace, and presence. They instill a calm sacred space, an environment most valuable in these hurried times. I call my work Art for Peace. I am presently working with the mediums of cast glass, metal, stone, and 3D printing with the themes of inner and outer peace. These themes are based on universal values, and represent evolutionary steps in our quest for enlightenment. It is my intention that each sculpture brings healing and renewal to the times we live in, as well as a peace message to future generations. May we live compassionately and peacefully in the light of our one shared humanity.
