Bill Piacesi has been a professional photographer for 27 years and has worked in many disciplines. He is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and from them has earned their Master Photographer Degree and Photographic Craftsman Degree. He is also a life member of the Virginia Professional Photographers' Association (VPPA) from which he has earned their Fellow of Photography Degree. He is a 2-time Past President of the VPPA and from them has been awarded the Virginia Award, the Southeastern Professional Photographers' Association Award, and the PPA National Award for his service to the VPPA. He has also been awarded over 30 professional photography awards for his work.
In 2011 he founded Focus for the Good a photography-based charitable organization in Memphis, TN to help raise awareness of the plight of of the homeless and underserved population.
