José Grimm (Barcelona) has dedicated his whole life to creativity. Working for years in the field of
marketing, sales and public relations, he took his first steps as a photographer when he was 20, due
to a journalist and photographer friend who put his first photography equipment in his hands. He
taught him the most basic principles of it.
Since then, a need to continue researching in the artistic photography was created, having his own
photography studio and laboratory at home.
His busy work life, always dedicated to marketing, makes creative photography remains on an intimate
level, and the little time available prevents him from devoting himself fully to creativity. During that time
he continues working in the photography, which leads him once and again to question himself his
exclusive dedication to it.
In 2009 he leaves everything behind and focus his creativity on editorial photography by founding
2beMAG magazine. The opportunity to have models posing for him every day gives him the ability
to give a twist to the typical modeling pose. After finishing his sessions he continues photographing
models, but this time just for him.
Grimm’s style is purely emotional and basic. An Enthusiast of archetypal beauty, he tries to show it with
not so typical intentions. He loves the sensation of creating emotions with his models, which are shown
in his photos in an intentionally simple way.
He usually works alone, without assistants or production. Lover of the loneliness joining model and
photographer, and that subtle confidence that allows him to capture the beauty of their primary
nature.
