Born and raised in the South, photographer and artist Renee Dent Blankenship feels a connection to her Southern surroundings. She finds it inspiring to be among the moss-covered live oaks and antebellum homes or feel the sugar white sands or hear the blues and jazz wafting through the thick Southern air. Where ever Renee is in her beloved South it fuels her and is the creative drive that influences her work.
LIVING ALONG THE GULF COAST all her life, especially from her hometowns of New Orleans and Mobile to her family's beach cottage ... plus all the wonderful travels in between ... has given her a distinctly Southern perspective in her art. Pieces are inspired by the traditions, grace and beauty of these Southern places and the people as well as the architecture, music, flora & fauna, and folklore of the region.
