This work was inspired by my deep passion for classical ballet and my fascination for the expressive and emotional power of the human body. The elegance, the grace and the sensuality of female figure it's here combined with the athletic power of Virna's body. Virna is First Dancer at La Scala Theatre in Milan and she is an international ballet star. Together we have created "Naked Moon" as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the man on the moon (1969-2019). We have decided to use the projection of the moon directly on Virna's naked body. The moonlight coming from the projector is the only source of light. The moon is reflecting the light of the sun on the hearth and it influences many things on our planet, including tides of seas and oceans, harvests, menses and mood. By projecting the moon on the body we would like to underline the importance of the delicate relation between us and the universe and to remind everyone that our body is also our planet; and both need care! It also wants to be a positive message to remind us that it is nice to dance in the moonlight...
