Natura (Barichara) The landscape is in part the set of physical elements that make it up (land, flora and fauna). These have their own materiality and can be -or not- observed. The observer's gaze is conditioned by his cultural baggage and he projects it on the landscape in a conscious or intuitive way. The systematization of these cultural elements is what allows man to evoke or give a meaning - and no other - to the landscape he contemplates, which allows him even the creation of symbols from the landscape itself. This cultural attribution to the landscape from the social perspective explains why the landscape has always had a relevant role in the formation, consolidation, and maintenance of territorial identity. These photographs were made on a old road that leads from Barichara to the village of Guane, in my country Colombia. Photos printed on cotton paper. Prints are hand signed, numbered, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
