ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In the popular modern way of understanding we associate the word “net” mainly with computers, internet and modern technologies that are supposed to connect us but actually keep us apart… apart from nature, apart from each other, apart from our true selves. I captured this scene of the everyday life of a fisherman in Cambodia that made me think about the digital network where we are all captivated by artificial images and superficial characters. In the meantime, real life happens out there to some of us… those who are labelled to be the poorest, deprived of the benefits of modern society. Are they? How about some real networking?
