Anyone who's passed through Moab, Utah, will surely recall this stretch of road. I snapped this photo from a rather bustling rest area, both due to its scarcity in the region and the captivating vista. I remember a lady traveling solo, I think she hailed from San Francisco. "ART is like a ROTTEN eggplant" The artist's journey into visual arts began with cinema, inspired by films like Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders, watched during his student years in Milan. This moment marked the start of an exploration into imagery and visual storytelling. Over the years, he delved into filmmaking and photography, starting with amateur videos of music bands and short films, eventually capturing photographs in domestic settings, gardens, and during travels. Initially working with a modest Pentax reflex camera, he transitioned through Panasonic camcorders to Sony equipment, experimenting with various techniques from the 1990s to today. Rather than drawing from great photographers, his inspiration comes from filmmakers, cinematographers, and writers. His work focuses on still life, landscapes, and abstract forms, rarely featuring people. Although not primarily focused on contests or exhibitions, his artistic exploration seeks to capture the essence of beauty and express it through visual storytelling. For him, a thoughtfully chosen image can provide peace, spark curiosity, and inspire resilience.
