About The Artwork
The imperial gardens in Beijing, China, boasted numerous exquisite rockeries, flowers, and even animals imported from around the globe, all intended for the pleasure of the royal family. I've ingeniously blended the techniques of Chinese landscape painting with the essence of Netherlandish still life art, resulting in a distinctive style. My aim is to evoke a sense of enigmatic oriental ambiance within the Western gaze. They are "Flowers and Fruit", "Three White Birds", "Magnolia and Crane" and "Rockery and parrot". Meanwhile, the series had got Honorable Mentions in LICC2015, LICC2016, MIFA2016, IPA2016.
