The Red Road flats were an iconic part of Glasgow history. Located in Springburn, at the time of their construction they were the tallest buildings in Western Europe. Their aim was to house the people moved from the overcrowded slums of Glasgow but they ended up being associated with crime, drug and alcohol abuse and anti social behaviour and in 2015 they were demolished. This photography print would be perfect for those who know and love Glasgow, maybe those who have a special association with the Red Road Flats, and those who appreciate architecture. Those who organised the demolition didn't release the time it was happening so we ended up waiting with our camera for hours. We set up our camera in fast shutter mode and captured a number of pictures as the building exploded. This one is the most striking.
