Reflecting on Blue captures the luminous stillness of a Hebridean shore at dawn, where turquoise sea, pale sand and an expansive Scottish sky seem to dissolve into one another. Soft clouds are mirrored across the wet sand, creating the sensation of walking upon the sky, while the distant mountains o...

Contact us.Lynne Douglas is a Scottish fine art photographer creating atmospheric, large-scale artworks inspired by the wild coastlines, islands and shifting light of Scotland. Working from her studio on the Isle of Skye, she is known for oversized abstract seascapes, panoramic coastal artworks and quiet, painterly landscapes in luminous shades of blue, teal, turquoise and soft natural tones.
A former scientist, Lynne became a full-time artist in 2012. Her photographic practice combines long exposure and intentional camera movement, using the camera almost like a paintbrush to soften the boundaries between sea, sky and land. The resulting works hover between photography and abstraction—less a literal record of place than an emotional response to light, colour and atmosphere.
Scale is an important part of her work. Many pieces are created specifically as large-scale statement artworks for spacious contemporary interiors, with panoramic, diptych and oversized formats particularly suited to substantial walls, double-height spaces and architectural settings. Bespoke dimensions are available for collectors, interior designers and art consultants working on individual projects.
Lynne's work has been exhibited internationally, including in New York and South Korea, and is held in private and corporate collections worldwide. Her large-scale coastal artworks have also been selected for healthcare and commercial interiors in the United States.
Limited Edition works are produced using archival fine art materials, with particular attention given to colour, texture and longevity. Lynne prints many of her works herself in her Skye studio, allowing close control over the finished piece.
