About the Artist

Fabio Bix

cre-active / Writer and Artist
I chose to be born in ’69 (an evocative number…) in Italy, without imagining that Brescia – the city where I work and live – would become one of the most polluted places in the world…
I took things quite calmly (I am sloooowww): It took me 30 years to become a child…
In 2002, my first narrative book was published that had two “I” narrators. In the second book, I split myself into 7 narrators. The “written word” began to limit me…
I continued to write and create various theatrical productions.
In 2007, I abandoned the written word but not my need to communicate.
From that point, I began to transform common objects.

In shoes, I discovered faces: “Shoes Art” project.
With pasta – that had expired – I cooked designs that I would not have been able to create with a pen: “Pasta-Asciutta” project.

With poker cards, I touched the peaks of illusionism: “c’Arte da Gioco” project.

With the photography project “Voloaraso” I highlighted a cosmology of figurative elements in the litter on the sidewalks of the city.

In “Mr Mistèr” – my third “new futuristic” book (2010) – there is a fusion between the written word and visual art.

I am a co-author of two short films:
“Graffiti Love”, created using stop-motion to animate my 2 characters from the Shoes-art series. And “Fame”, artistic metaphor of that which – universally – pushes man to a continuous and insatiable search, in good times and in bad, to extreme consequences.
Play and irony are distinct characteristics in all of my work.
I have exhibited in galleries and museums.
It is more likely to find me in a pub.
