ABOUT THE ARTWORK
SALTFLEET FLAMINGOS The image was taken at the Saltfleet National Nature Reserve in October 2019. Tidal sand and mudflats, salt and freshwater marshes and sand dunes. I naturally thought of unnatural flamingos! This is a curiously serene place, shared in contrast with the Ministry of Defence.Overhead fighter planes periodically annihilated the tranquillity. Just as the fighter planes Jarred with the peace, I wanted the flamingos to jar with the landscape. The natural topography besmirched with cheap pink plastic.

PETER HUCKERBY Moments before a thunderstorm, a sense something is about to change, something exciting, possibly dangerous. My images are in essence an attempt to capture a development just before the event. I love unattainable stillness. Nothing in view is impossible, although could be unsettling yet exhilarating! I live in Britain; I love the spiritual, mythical, ancient and superstitious overtones that embrace the land. Subtle but still visible if you look deeply. Safe fear, like watching horror movies, ultimately can be unsatisfying. Still, imagery can deliver a more enduring emotion letting the viewer complete the story. The tale is about to be revealed!
