ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Self Portrait - Retrospective Series (40 Year Anniversary) As much as possible, the images are true to the original film negatives with no digital effects apart from cleaning up of dust, scratches, hairs and water marks. These are mostly retouched by hand without using generic, blunt, automated filters. All the special effects produced ‘in camera’. Portraits in a similar style to the Bowie Heroes shoot by Masayoshi Sukita. The 'in camera' effects included multiple flash and open shutter treatments. Reminiscent of the Robert Mappletorpe portraits - big fan of his work - but these images predate his by a few years. Certain images would have been too tricky to produce with issues that can easily be rectified now using digital retouching. These images work well as an animated series. It's been fun playing around with this collection after all these years. Looks like I was a pretty little thing in those days! Hahaha.. didn't think so at the time. That zit on my chin, the chicken pox scars, the dodgy peroxide job, the self-pierced earring holes and the charity shop shirt that eventually 'literally' fell apart (loved and lived in that shirt)..hehe.. • Type: Fine-Art Photographic • Medium: C-Type • Paper: Fuji Matt • Paper Size: 42.0 x 59.4 cms (approx 16.5 x 23.4 inches) • Image Size: 34.3 x 5.41 cms (approx 13.5 x 20.25 inches) • Edition: Gallery Edition of only 10 • This artwork is sold ready to frame • Signed by the artist in pencil (on the back)* • Includes Certificate of Authenticity Artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure tube.
