Shortly after a war in which children were used as soldiers, I was strolling in Monrovia and noticed children playing football in the beach, like children do in any peaceful society. The scene belied the fact that until a few weeks ago, boys and girls were fighting and killing each other with real guns, dying in reality and not as part of the imaginary games of children all over the world. He suddenly started to jump and dance around, with a joy that was possible only thanks to his resilience as a human being.
