To paint we use brushes, sometimes our hands, even our feet. In photography we use the camera. I try to paint movement, color, beauty, poetry with light, just as other artists try to do the same with a brush or other instrument. But in both we need the visual. It is through the gaze that each artist discovers, reveals and marks his work. The look is not just that moment. There is a life behind the artist's gaze. This captured moment is impregnated with what I saw, heard, smelled and felt when I was born, when I grew up. My musical, literary, culinary, sexual and religious preferences are there in this image. My ethical behavior is there. As well as my view of the world. It doesn't matter if it's photography, painting, sculpture, graffiti, tattooing, literature or cinema. Art shows the soul. And just like in psychology, the most important and basic thing is to know yourself, to show that the soul (or psyche, consciousness, personality, self, unconscious or spirit) is the first step towards self-knowledge, self-acceptance and evolution, to we become better human beings, consequently improving the world we live in.
