ABOUT THE ARTWORK
During a sunrise in early July 2022 at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, Philadelphia, PA, United States, this lone Barn Swallow is perched on top a rail of a foot bridge over a pond. Bridges are one place Barn Swallows enjoy nesting at, using them as shelter from other animals. This is a great example of animals using human built features and structures to their advantage.
