With his "surfaces" the artist wants to highlight the "complexity of reality" in a subjective (perceptive) and objective sense. Provocatively the term "surfaces" is used in order to highlight how beyond the superficial appearance there is an unknown and transcendent world on which Calvani faces. Hence the interest in the unknown, the unsettling, the paradox, the wonder. The techniques used are different; often the "case" is a fundamental element in reaching the final result. From the photographic shoot with the moving machine, the use of long times, the use of blurred or analytical click, up to the use of manipulation through photoshop.
