‘Working with the Archive’ is a new body of work. Whilst cataloguing and archiving the effects of my late Grandfather, I came across a pack of playing cards with representations of life model photography. Dating from the early part of the last century, these playing card images represent the accepted attitudes of a generation within a defined time frame. Originally in black and white, I decided to hand tint the images inspired by my screen-printing technique. Each image is hand printed and quality checked individually by me, using archival pigmented Epson UltraChrome inks on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Paper - Photo Rag Smooth, a 100% cotton paper (308gsm) or Hahnemuhle Fine Art - Baryta, a 100% cellulose paper (325 gsm), guaranteeing archival standards. These combinations create vivid and intense colour with vibrancy and an incredible tonal range for black and white images. The image size (including a small white boarder) is - 1189mm(46.81in) x 837mm(32.95in) in). The photograph will be signed verso and arrive with a letter of authenticity confirming its provenance and limited-edition reference no. Please contact me directly for larger or smaller sizes, different substrates, including aluminium and C-type photographic chemical prints, or any other question or request. Many thanks.

Daniel Pangbourne is a British born artist, who creates in the abstract and metaphysical fine art photographic and oil/acrylic/canvas genres, working out of his converted metal works factory in S.W. London. Working across several mediums including lens based and camera less image creation, traditional photographic print making, handmade printing papers and in-studio digital reproductions, Pangbourne excels in the craft of the photographic process and presentation. With a BA(hons) and MA degree in photographic art, and after many years working on location, in the studio and dark room environments, Pangbourne uses the language of art photography to communicate his inner thoughts and emotions. His work has been internationally exhibited and appears in many private collections. Influenced and inspired by the psychology and philosophy of Abstract Expressionist, Surrealist and Psychoanalytical artists such as Michael Floman, Nicholas Hughes, Kasimir Malevich, Ira Martin, Henry Holmes Smith, Marcus Rothko, Jackson Pollock and Frederick Sommer plus many others. For the viewer his allegorical art is profoundly moving, spiritual energy is made visible. By reacting in an individual and personal way, the viewer is interrelated with the image, their relationship is a continuing intimate journey of discovery and evolvement.
