About The Artwork

This art series is inspired by the short story 'Thanda Gosht' by Manto. The series focuses on two parallel themes: the raw and uncovered form of meat and the completely covered women. The series highlights the connection between these two themes and how they are viewed by society. It suggests that regardless of whether a woman is covered or not, they are seen as the same in the eyes of a rapist. The raw and uncovered form of meat represents vulnerability and the ease with which one can harm or consume it. The completely covered women, on the other hand, are symbolized as being oppressed and forced to hide themselves from the world. The art series presents a thought-provoking commentary on the treatment of women in society and the double standards that exist in our culture. It raises important questions about how we perceive women and the ways in which we need to change our mindset and behavior towards them.
