Beate Walden, born in Frankfurt, Germany is recognized for her photographic artwork that blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination. She is included in the winning images at the IPA Awards, the LICC Awards as well as the PX3 Paris Photo Prize. Solo shows in Los Angeles and San Miguel de Allende. Inspired by poetry, philosophy and the foundations of human nature, Beate Walden’s photonarratives blend beauty and truth with humor and dreamlike magic—a horizon into her unique visual alchemy. For over two decades, her work has become a portal to imagined yet strangely familiar worlds—echoes of our dreams, daily quests, and quiet hopes. She invites viewers to reimagine their world with optimism, harmony, and wonder. “I photograph the beautiful and brilliant from the inside out,” Beate reflects. Her art calls on us to remember our innate innocence—and how, by holding onto this deep knowing of splendor, we might shape a better world for all. Extensive journeys of photographing the beauty of European landscapes, the dramatic vistas of American cities, profound human portraits and the natural glory of animals is only the beginning to a meticulous process. Post-photographic merging, Photographic Painting and additional artworks turn each photograph into a complex composite artwork, created into a unique piece. From the initial concept, to the photo session, to the construction and creation of the 100s of layers into one cohesive piece, her photonarrative transcends traditional boundaries of photography and displays a respite into imagined reality.
