About The Artwork

While walking through the Palic Nature Park during my visit to Subotica and Palic Lake, I came across another interesting building that immediately caught my attention. I stop, and of course, take a photo of this old beauty. One of the main tourist attractions in Palic is certainly the Great Terrace. You can't miss it if you walk along the Palic lake natural park because it is the central part of the Great Park Palic. This beautiful old building is probably the most important object in the Palic. It was built in the style of secession in 1912 by the famous Hungarian architects Marcell Comor and Dezső Jakab. The Grand Terrace, with its proportions, a combination of structural elements, shapes, colors and openings, stood out with its special beauty. The only decoration was in the form of floral motives is engraved and perforated in wooden elements. The promenade that runs through the building divides the ground floor into two units. one was served as a pastry shop and the other as a restaurant. Both of them had spacious terraces facing the lake. Towards the park, there were two apsidal form bazaars in which there was a barber shop, a toy store and a paper shop. The lateral staircases are accessed by an upstairs lane that covers the passage and connects the two units into a single cube. In the central part there was a multi-purpose hall where balls, concerts, parties and theatrical performances were organized. This multipurpose object has changed its function for many years. Today, the Grand Terrace is the most important congress center in this area. There are three congress halls with a maximum capacity of 360, 50 and 20 seats, intended for conferences, congresses, meetings as well as various exhibitions and other events. This is really imposing building and you should see it if you ever visit Serbia and Palic lake. One May day in Palic lake, Vojvodina, Serbia. From the Palaces and Villas collection.

Welcome to my Saatchi Art print shop! I am a fine art photographer, photo editor-retoucher and photo restorator and colorist from Serbia with years of experience. I mostly do landscape photography and I love to photograph all those beautiful scenes that are worth saving forever. Here you can buy my artwork prints: fine art prints, canvas prints and framed prints that will decorate your home and all of that in the best possible print quality. All you see here are my original artworks, so I do not resale any stock images. What makes me happiest is when I see that people really like my work and want it hanging on their walls. That makes me work harder and create even more nice artworks. I hope you will like some of my images. Enjoy.
