Ali Kursun is a Geneva-based visual artist whose practice spans fifteen years of intuitive exploration through painting and photography. Self-taught and deliberately experimental, his work began with dry pastel paintings on canvases uniformly covered in earth tones, and has since evolved through unorthodox methods that prioritize instinct over convention. Drawing from immersion in diverse cultures and human experiences, Ali's work centers on sensory perception and the conditions of existence. He approaches art as both storyteller and thoughtful inquirer, driven by fundamental questions about human knowledge and experience. "In essence, art is the unspoken language of feeling," he explains. "It is about perceptual worlds and senses. You either feel a piece of artwork or you don't. Art is intuitive. It is a universal system of communication." Ali Kursun lives and creates in Geneva, Switzerland.
