Graduated in photography at the Bauhaus School of Arts, he started as a photographer in 1994, at the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper in Brazil. And for 25 years, he traveled the world translating his reflections into images. In 2015, he was a photographic correspondent in the Middle East, where he covered the Arab spring uprising in Libya, the massacre in Cairo, the capital of Egypt and the conflicts in the Middle East. He was in the Military Coup in Honduras in Central America in 2009, he was in refugee camps in central Africa and the Middle East. His works covering the Arab Spring were published in major newspapers around the world, such as The New York Times, Washington Post, Le Monde, El País, The Independent and Time and Life magazines. He won 5 human rights awards, the All Human Rights, granted by the UN, in celebration of 60 years of human rights, the Wladmir Herzog of human rights, Anamatra, Amb and Dom Helder. He wrote two books; “A crack of light in the basement of society”, about his experiences in war zones. The other, “Maluco da BR”, about a trip he took as a hiker, along Brazilian roads.
