ABOUT THE ARTWORK

UKRAINE UKRAINE. What does this word mean to me? This is primarily a feeling. Feelings and emotions. Arising from the memories and experiences. Childhood memories. The feeling of warmth and joy. Parental amulet and a circle of cheerful friends. This word automatically forces you to analyze: what it was before and what it was, how it is now, and what will happen in the future. And also - disappointment, fatigue and hopelessness. Fear for tomorrow and for the future. Loss of friends, hopes, ways. Complicated. It is difficult and difficult to express in one word or one sentence, one photo or several, feelings associated with the country, homeland, home, family, people. This is what is on the fingertips, what is in the air and invisible. Feelings and emotions. UKRAINE is a state of mind and soul. There is a mentality of the people and values, there is a story, there is a memory and a modern world that is rapidly developing, with its own trends, changing reality, landscapes and minds of people. There are separate fates of people and their lives, the fate of the whole nation and country. UKRAINE - this is war, politics, oligarchy, pension and pensioners, pharmacy and drugs, religion, poverty, many expensive cars, injustice and lawlessness, corruption, anger, hopelessness, hatred, independence. People want stability and peace. They just want health to their children. I am so sorry for people. Forced to survive, not live. In my project “UKRAINE” I want to show a slice of life: cultural, political, human, military, everyday, the country of Ukraine and its citizens. Photo for me over time. Unrelated to a specific place, event, and time, it is a way, allegory, metaphor, symbol, hieroglyph, code. Being in its minimalism, the whole world with its paradoxes, absurdities and chaos. _____ * Author’s Limited Edition – Fine Art Pigment Print, signed and numbered by the Author on the recto. * Photograph on high quality paper Hahnemuelhe and Canson.
