ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This steep endless staircase of close to 200 steps that was constructed in the early 1700 hundreds leads to a viewing point of an astronomical Tower. The construction of this tower and material used have remained intact since original construction. The perfection of the staircase, upwards and downwards, angled at close proximity gave me a feeling of timelessness as though there was no endpoint.

Born and raised in New Zealand, I received my BA at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.Subsequently I resided in Sydney, London and San Diego.I now live in Zichron Yaakov, Israel and work in the Archives of the Aarohsohn / NILI Historical Museum as both archivist and photographer When exploring contemporary architectural images through my lens, I focus on one segment which I subsequently replicate. In so doing the image morphs into a metaphor of itself. Conversely, as a History major some of my works reflect a historical perspective in a modern current day context. These images appeal to me for their texture imposed by the ravages of time, & I preserve them in their entirety. Both genres reflect my passion for geometry, texture and their interplay with color. Recently I have used an illustrative method, to create a more minimal effect, and a suggestiveness than focus of details. All photographs are Limited Editions. They are printed by the Durst Lambda 130 printer on crystal archival paper and are unframed.
